Few herbes have such a strong association with the element, Fire. Mullien can be used to invoke the elemental energy of fire and bring literal fire into the ritual. Dried leaves can be soaked in oil. Some will dip them into a mixture os saltpeter and water, then hang them to dry. When tossed into a fire, they will blaze brightly.
In ancient grimoires the powdered leaf is a substitute for graveyard dust.
